Meet the Blog Author

My name is Barbara. I am a born-again Christian, a homemaker, mother to three adult children who are married to three wonderful people and out of those unions I have eleven exemplary grandchildren ranging in age from adults to elementary school. My precious husband of 50 years was called to heaven during the COVID pandemic.

I have lived in eleven states and Canada. Most of my married years were spent along the Front Range of Colorado and then we retired to beautiful Florida where there is no snow to shovel and our heaviest coats were stuffed to the back of a closet.

My hobbies include sewing, coloring books, crossword puzzles, Bible study, leisurely walks and eating sea food within view of oceans, rivers, streams, and waterfalls. I also enjoy light-roast coffee on the back porch while visiting with family and friends.

Faith in Jesus Christ as my Savior and Lord sustains me. This has been true since the age of six, but especially since Beloved's unexpected death. This has been the most traumatic experience of my life but God has brought me through it and I am learning to eagerly anticipate whatever the Lord has for me next.

My blog post about Beloved's passing is at this link: A Temporary Goodbye

Blogging since February 2009, I enjoy this form of self-publishing as a way to express myself, relax, and make new friends both near and far.

While I never expected my writing to include my own widowhood, this has been a helpful way for me to process grief. I trust as time passes the pain will lessen and my experiences will be of help to others.
